Welcome. These classes are aimed at those starting or just growing their balloon businesses, although even a seasoned professional is sure to learn something new too.
Your Teacher
JayJay van Vliet CBA: Owner of three successful balloon businesses, Mad Balloons, Brookvale Balloons, and JayJay the Balloon guy. JayJay has been in the balloon business in both South Africa and Australia for many years and has experience in all aspects of this industry.
Each class is 3 hours in duration, plus JayJay will be around for an extra hour after each class for a Q and A session. Classes will be held at our workshop in Brookvale. Format will be four Sunday afternoons in a row or two full days of two classes per day. Select from the products at the bottom of the page to register.
We will be teaching practical and useful techniques and products that we use in our own businesses every week. These are not always the fanciest and most difficult designs but certainly the ones that make the most profit. We will cover a small amount of marketing as well as costing your work but will not be giving direct advice on how to price yourselves. We will give examples of our own pricing for each job.
Registration will also include some fantastic value. A goodie bag including some useful tools and equipment,a three month subscription to an amazing software tool for design and marketing. Invitation to join a private Facebook group where you will be able to ask questions we will guarantee an answer from one of the teachers and other students will be able to pitch in with their own experiences. Conditions of registration – Tickets are non refundable, however if you cannot attend oen of the classes you have paid for, you will be able to register for a future class subject to availability.
Classes will be limited to eight people, that will be lifted as things improve. Minimum registration is 4, if we don’t reach that number we will refund any registrations.

Fundamentals of Balloon Twisting class
Thinking of becoming a balloon twister? Already in the kids entertainment business and want to add a new skill? Already doing balloon modelling but want to improve your range and balloon sculpture skills?
Balloon sculpture is a great way to interact with kids or adults for those in the service industry or those who work with children. Doctors, dentists, waiters, teachers, childcare and aged care workers etc. All could benefit from this wonderful art.
JayJay offers private balloon courses for all levels. Workshops can be held at your premises or in Brookvale. Prices are kept very reasonable as we hope that students will become returning customers. For details on private classes please send an enquiry by email or through this site.
Every month or so JayJay hosts a beginners course at his warehouse in Brookvale. Classes are limited to 8 participants and the course will only be held if at least three register. .
Students will learn about the types and sizes of balloons available, inflation and tying techniques, all of the basic twists and a range of one balloon sculptures and some bigger and fancier pieces. Those who arrive with some experience already will definitely grow in confidence.With some practice of all that is covered in the class all should be able to entertain a group of children or adults with their new skill.
Cost: $99 plus GST This is non refundable as I plan around the registrations as they come in. If for some reason you cannot attend, you will get credit to join any class in the future. Class will only go ahead if at least three people register, refunds will be made if we don’t fill a class.
Time 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an hours break for lunch (total of five hours of tuition)
Address Unit 17 42 – 44 Wattle road, Brookvale. Top of the ramp and turn right – we are in the corner. I have parking for a few cars, some will have to park in the street, please callme on 0407218577 for parking instructions on arrival.
What to bring – Your pump, cutter, markers and any other tools you use. Notebook and pen and a camera can be handy if you like to take notes. We will provide all the balloons you will need in the class. If you don’t have a pump etc don’t worry we can lend you one.
Lunch – I do have a microwave, kettle, fridge etc if you want to bring your own. We usually pop down to the cafe on the bottom floor of the complex.
